Fun Fix Friday – roblems relying to eole

Sorry, can’t type the “p” character in iNotes. πŸ˜› It’s apparently causing problems replying to people! πŸ™‚

I stumbled on this bug a few months ago when I was having to use iNotes for a customer. In Firefox 66, the lowercase “p” character could not be typed in the To, CC, or BCC fields. For me, I just happened to notice it because I was using Firefox in that virtual machine and opened up iNotes from there.

At the time, it had already been reported with a client-side workaround. This was detailed in responses here and here. Basically changing an option from about:config to use a “hack” setting for certain domains. Glad to see this is fixed now, but as Firefox is already up to version 69 and most users would auto-update hopefully this won’t be as much of a problem. (From looking at the weblogs of another client, we see that 85%+ of the Firefox hits are coming from Versions 68 or 69.) But it’s great that HCL is addressing it and perhaps it will prevent the issue from happening again in the future.

Here’s the SPR for the fix in 10.0.1 FP2:

SPR# RCFEBALJSB – iNotes – Fixed a problem where hitting ‘p’ (lowercase ‘p’) on the keyboard doesn’t work as expected on Firefox 66.
